Caraccioli Cellars Brut Cuvee 2019

Mattinson review of Caraccioli Cellars Brut Cuvee 2019.

Caraccioli Cellars Brut Cuvee 2019
12% alcohol, cork, Santa Lucia Highlands.

60/40 blend chardonnay/pinot noir. Four years (plus) on lees.
This is a thrilling bottle of sparkling wine. The acidity is bracing, the structure of high import. It’s layered with bread, strawberry, oyster shell, green apple and citrus sorbet characters but it’s the intensity and the length that draws you in. Indeed it’s one of those wines that keeps on going beyond when you think it could reasonably and satisfyingly stop. In short, it’s elegant, long and characterful. 94 points.
