Bien Nacido Estate Pinot Noir 2022

Mattinson review of Bien Nacido Estate Pinot Noir 2022.

Bien Nacido Estate Pinot Noir 2022
13.5% alcohol, cork, Santa Maria Valley USA.

Varietal character is on open, beautiful, display here. This is a bright, complex wine with woodsmoke, twiggy herbs, some macerated notes, smoky-spicy tannin, juicy length, orange rind and floral characters. It’s the full box and dice in some ways but then it’s also full of class, with a peppery aftertaste and mouthfeel that shows both silk and finesse. The longer I sat with this the more those sweet herb/sugared tea/orange blossom characters both shone and seduced. This is an excellent wine. 94 points.
