$30, 13.5% alcohol, cork, Bordeaux/France.

The shape and the flavour profile of this wine are both very good. It’s also well sustained through the finish. It tastes of leather and sage, redcurrant and chocolate, with cocoa, tobacco dust and earth characters floating through. It feels gently developed, noticeably dry and touched gently by balsamic-like notes. It will be at its best when served alongside food. 89 points.
