Some cabernets have “cellar” written all over them, and this is one such cabernet. It’s drinking well now but the sinew of it, the inflections of salted herbs, the length and the overall balance all point to a future of high enjoyment. It tastes of plum, redcurrant, olives and cedar, and its all-round pitch is just about perfect. This wine is high in elegance, in the most positive sense of the word, and has genuine structural integrity too. 94 points.
