Juan Cristobal Mendoza Malbec 2025
AU$30, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Mendoza/Argentina.

For starters this wine offers solid flavours; it has substance. It tastes of red and black berries, leather, ironstone and dried, salted herbs. That’s enough in itself to be worth buying/drinking, but it also has good mouthfeel, and decent persistence, and just enough character to make it stand out and up. It’s robust, it feels good, and it has a bit of difference. All wins, as they say.
