Magarey Lane Glenroy Shiraz 2015
$115, 14.5% alcohol, DIAM cork, Coonawarra.

This is a mature Coonawarra shiraz with leather, redcurrant, spearmint and chocolate flavours combining now with secondary, undergrowth-like notes. Indeed there’s an element of smoked tobacco here, which is a nice touch. It’s medium in weight and mellow, as you would expect of a wine of its age, the flavours pushing on appreciably through the finish. 92 points.
