This is a rich, smooth, oak-splashed shiraaz from Coonawarra with plenty of flavour on the palate to hang onto. It tastes of chocolate, coffee, smoked cedar and ripe, roasted plums, with peppercorn and mint notes as highlights. This wine is seven years old but it’s still primary and fresh, which is always both a good sign, and helps to keep the enjoyment-factor high. 92 points.
