This is a grainy, meaty, minty red wine with leather, blueberry, gravel and cocoa-powder flavours rippling throughout. It’s refreshing and well measured but it also has a bit of grunt to it. There’s a menthol note here too, along with tobacco, and a noticeable rake of dry tannin. There a good deal going on, both in flavour and structure terms. 91 points.
