Curtis Family Vineyards Ancestor Shiraz 2022

Mattinson review of Curtis Family Vineyards Ancestor Shiraz 2022.

Curtis Family Vineyards Ancestor Shiraz 2022
$180, 14.5% alcohol, DIAM cork, McLaren Vale.

Take dark berried fruit flavours and make them into a mountain. That’s the kind of richness that we have on offer here. Blackberries, violets, mints, roasted plums and chocolate flavours come infused with vanilla, woodsmoke and cedar. The effect is imposing, impressive and seductive at once. There’s a fineness to the tannin, a fine but effective etch, which gives the wine shape but also serves to highlight the richness of flavour on offer. 94 points.
