Paralian Marmont Vineyard Grenache 2024
$48, 14% alcohol, screwcap, McLaren Vale.

The best grenache wines wear their structure, and their delicacy, on their sleeve. This release from outstanding McLaren Vale producer Paralian does both those things. Indeed if you want to know why there’s so much excitement around McLaren Vale grenache these days, buy and drink this wine. It offers ample raspberried, boysenberried, strawberried fruit, throws floral and sweet spice characters into the fray, and then draws all these elements long through the finish via exquisite, earthen, assertive chains of tannin. The words ‘it’s a pearler’ might have been uttered. 95 points.
