Mount Pleasant Mountain A Medium Bodied Dry Red 2024
Mount Pleasant Mountain A Medium Bodied Dry Red 2024
AU$100, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Hunter Valley.
Those sensational red berried fruit flavours, those ribbons of alpine herbs and graphite, that gentle adornment of sweet, spicy oak matched to pods of cardamon and iron; this is a cracking wine, so more-ish, so classic, and just so plainly and effortlessly sophisticated. I tasted this over the course of three days; it was excellent from the start and all it did thereafter was improve. Glory be. This is what wine is all about. Grown on 1965-planted vines. I’m scoring it at 95 points but I could easily have gone a point higher. 95 points – Campbell Mattinson.
