This wine is ripe, solid and well-fruited, but even so you’d be hard-pressed to find a more savoury pinot noir. There are almost no sweet elements here. It’s all earth, undergrowth, nuts, sap and sweet spice, with an undercurrent of unsweetened red cherries. It works. It’s not unripe and it’s not hard. It’s also complex and then some. It will be at its best at the dining table.
