Papari Valley 3 Terraces Rkatsiteli 2023

Bottle of Papari Valley 3 Terraces Rkatsiteli 2023.

Papari Valley 3 Terraces Rkatsiteli 2023
13% alcohol, cork, Kakheti region of Georgia.

This is part of the 3 Terraces range and indeed processes – the terraces referring to the three-level journey of qvevri the wine has moved through. It’s a fascinating winery to visit: they are gravity flowing wine, between storeys, from qvevri to qvevri. This is all managed by Papari Valley winemaker Sandro Kurdadze, who is pictured in the piece on Papari Valley here.

To the wine:

More yellow than amber. Strong peach and pear on both the nose and palate. Lots of fruit but lots of savourinrss too. Earth, sand, honey and brine. Great finish, shape and completeness. Super. 94 points.
