Paul Osicka Grenache is a wine that I’m following with great interest. It’s at the vanguard of Australian grenache’s move into Victoria.

Delicious flavours of raspberry, red licorice, earth, chocolate and sweet spice put on quite a show here, though all of this is set within a firm frame. You get structure, you get flavour, you get an array. This is a wine that really struts its stuff with a bit of air. There’s a smoked meat element to this wine too, and an attractive “rusty tannin” note. I can’t fault it. It has character aplenty, and is great buying. 93 points – Campbell Mattinson.
