$75, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Coonawarra.

There’s substance to the palate, and the structure to match, but it’s the perfume of the nose and the freshness of the fruit here that really seduces. This Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is six years old but it still feels incredibly youthful; a good sign. It’s loaded with spearmint, chocolate, anise, mulch and a mix of both blackcurrant and redcurrant flavour, and from start to finish it feels both smooth and impactful. 93+ points.
