Sequent Shiraz 2021

Bottle of Sequent Shiraz 2021.

Sequent Shiraz 2021
$50, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Barossa Valley.

This is shiraz from the northern Barossa Valley, matured in a mix of new and used French oak.

This is very good. It has plenty of flavour but it’s the finesse of the tannin that really elevates it. It’s five years old and it shows some signs of development, which only adds to its drinkability. It tastes of roasted plums and beef stock, leather and violets, sweet black cherries and smoked dark chocolate. Everything is in good shape and in good form. It all rings and carries out nicely through the finish too. 93 points.
