This wine gives positive nods to both fruitiness and savouriness and does so in a firm, persistent way. It’s an excellent wine in anyone’s language. It tastes of assorted blue, black and red berries; it carries earth, leather and crushed spice characters easily and well; it’s touched by oak but no more than that. Everything is impeccable here, and everything tastes good. I particularly like how everything here has depth and emphasis and yet it never feels overly heavy. 94 points.
