This is a throaty, heady, richly-flavoured shiraz with asphalt, smooth plum, peppercorn and mint characters served in tandem with a gentle – and appropriate – veneer of vanilla cream. It feels good in the mouth as a result, and offers plenty of warm-hearted flavour. Tannin is recessed nicely into the fruit flavour itself, and it finishes with a satisfying push. 92 points.
