Aramis The Heir Syrah 2018

Mattinson review of Aramis The Heir Syrah 2018.

Aramis The Heir Syrah 2018
$80, 14.5%, DIAM cork, McLaren Vale.

This is a rich, satisfying, plush red wine that is, right now, in the prime of its drinking life. It will satisfy everyone and anyone. It tastes of sweet plums, it comes inflected with herbs and leathers, it has an earthen side and it’s laced with smoky, minty oak. Tannin, fine-grained, is a key feature, though it is beautifully well integrated with the richness of the fruit. This is a majestic red wine, mature now but with plenty ahead of it. 95 points.
