Artemi Ambre Dry Vermouth

Artemi Ambre Dry Vermouth
$40, 500ml, 18% alcohol, cork.

Recommended? Yes.
Orange peel, chamomile, burnt sugar, dried herbs – it’s like a walk through a pantry on a warm day. Bitter, yes, but balanced, with a waxy feel and just enough lift to keep it nimble. Not overly sweet, not trying too hard. Feels well thought-out. Good with a cube of ice and a sliver of orange peel. Makes a mean Negroni, too. Stylish stuff.

This is made by Jean-Paul Trijsburg (aka The Happy Winemaker) who Mattinson says makes excellent wine too.
