I’m not going to call this the best-value wine on the shelves of Dan Murphy’s stores – it’s exclusive to Dan Murphy’s and BWS – but it is one of the better ones. The fruit flavours here have genuine power, it feels ripe and sweet-fruited but it’s not too sweet-fruited, it carries an attractive array of spice notes, there are cola and cocoa-like aspects to the flavours, and it’s dry and well-shaped through the finish. The Under $20 + Over 90 Points combination isn’t common; this wine is therefore uncommonly good value.

91 points – Campbell Mattinson.
