$40, 13.3% alc, DIAM cork. Barossa Valley.

Blend of Roussanne and Marsanne.

What I love about this wine is its charisma. It’s neat, clean and flavoursome but there’s nothing cookie-cutter about it; in a world of bland this wine is distinctive. It’s straw-yellow in colour, rich in taste, fleshed with yellow stonefruit and honey, and blessed with brine, crushed white flower and nashi pear characters. There’s a smoky, minerally, nutty character in play here too, which teams beautifully with the briney, seaspray aspect. This is a white wine of both complexity and power. 95 points.
