Santa & D’Sas …ish Pinot Noir 2022

Mattinson review of Santa & D’Sas …ish Pinot Noir 2022.

Santa & D’Sas …ish Pinot Noir 2022
$25, 13.0% alcohol, screwcap, King Valley.

This is a light, sinewy red wine that is both refreshing and perfectly suited to the dinner table. What it lacks in robust or dense fruit flavour it makes up for in versatility. It tastes of cranberry and red cherry with strings of herbs strewn through, though as it breathes a red licorice character unfurls. There’s plenty of tannin, particularly in the context of such lightness, but the wine’s overall energy makes it work. This would be perfect with a plate of salumi. 90 points.
