Hirsch Hill Private Collection Pinot Noir 2024

Mattinson review of Hirsch Hill Private Collection Pinot Noir 2024

Hirsch Hill Private Collection Pinot Noir 2024
$38, 13.5% alcohol, screwcap, Yarra Valley.

This is a light Pinot Noir out of the Yarra Valley but it’s complex and satisfying. In the short to medium term it should age well too. Its tastes of sweet-sour strawberries and cherries with spice and autumnal leaf characters tossed through. Tannin is a key aspect of this wine; it makes the wine feel purposeful and neat. That said, there’s just a little bit of wildness to this wine and that’s not just a good thing; it keeps you interested. 91 points.
