Michael Hall Mount Torrens Syrah 2022

Mattinson review of Michael Hall Mount Torrens Syrah 2022.

Michael Hall Mount Torrens Syrah 2022
$60, 13.6% alcohol, screwcap, Adelaide Hills.

Michael Hall is a star of the Adelaide Hills, Barossa and Eden Valley regions. Every wine he makes is meticulous and every wine is (very) good. This shiraz, which includes 94% whole bunches in its (wild) ferment, is yet more evidence of the excellent of this producer. The tannin here in intricate and superbly well balanced; the fruit is lively, meaty and complex at once; the spice and floral top notes add both class and pleasure; and the finish is beautifully well sustained. Everything is in excellent shape here. 95 points.
