Allegiance Wines Margaret River Unity Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
$120, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Margaret River.

This is a sturdy Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant, gravel, bay leaf and cedarwood flavours ensuring that its motor hums along nicely. There’s depth to the fruit here but there’s also a lifted, light, floral side as well, which makes drinking it such a pleasure. Assertive tannin doesn’t quite sit seamlessly in the wine, for now, though it will in time, and it will also help ensure that this wine lives and matures for a good many years. Hold off for a couple of years, and then start tucking in. 92 points.
