Brand & Sons Jim Brand Silent Partner Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Mattinson review of Brand & Sons Jim Brand Silent Partner Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Brand & Sons Jim Brand Silent Partner Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
$40, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Coonawarra.

This wine takes time to come around and benefits from a stint in a decanter. It’s awash with blackcurrant, gum leaf, cedarwood and tobacco-like flavours, but it’s the sturdiness of the tannin that really benefits from a bit of extra air. There’s no arguing though with the warm heart of flavour on offer here, nor with the softness of the texture or indeed with the length of the finish. 92 points.
