Moppity Vineyards Escalier Shiraz 2017

Bottle of Moppity Vineyards Escalier Shiraz 2017.

Moppity Vineyards Escalier Shiraz 2017
AU $180, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Hilltops.

This is a beautiful bottle of mature, mellow, complex shiraz. It’s a wine of spread and breadth rather than of out-and-and depth, and this in itself is one of its key strengths. It tastes of plums, earth, roasted stone fruits, pan juices and woodsmoke, with a beautiful element of leaf matter combined with rose petals. It’s pretty, autumnal, full of fruit and full of character. It’s at its drinking peak right now. 94 points.
