This is a beautifully perfumed wine. Indeed it has you at hello. Red berried fruit flavours, twig and spice notes, semblances of smoked meat and a long, sinewy-but-juicy finish; everything here is moreish and quality at once. When Tasmania gets shiraz/syrah right, it tends to get it really right; this release from Pooley in the Coal River Valley is yet more proof.
