Both of Scotsburn’s Lava Flow and Turas releases are from the estate’s close planted (in 2012) Pinot Noir block – planted into what remains of a lava flow out of nearby Mount Buninyong. This vineyard is planted at a density of 6667 vines per hectare.

This is a satiny Pinot Noir with a beautiful crush of rose-petal like flavours/scents running the length of it. This element makes the wine feel both distinctive and special. The cherry and cranberry flavours here are silken too, while lavender, sweet spice, and roasted nut oak notes continue the exotic theme.This wine is both backward and forward, in style, at once; it’s sits down firmly in the palate and then lifts off in a soar. 94 points – Campbell Mattinson.
