Purple Hands Planta Circa Cabernet Sauvignon 2024
AU$120, 14% alcohol, screwcap, Barossa Valley.

What I like about this release is that it’s thick with flavour – it’s genuinely rich with ripe, curranty fruit – and feels so plush throughout that it easily qualifies as luxurious. And yet, also, it feels controlled and indeed elegant. It’s old school and new school at once; it’s unashamedly full-bodied, but simultaneously neat and balanced. It also has ribs of spicy, fine-grained tannin, which will serve it well as it ages. It is, in short, Barossa Valley cabernet in top form.
