Smeaton Estate Stella Chardonnay 2023

Mattinson review of Smeaton Estate Stella Chardonnay 2023.

Smeaton Estate Stella Chardonnay 2023
$58, 13.4% alcohol, screwcap, Adelaide Hills.

We are in the company of A Class Chardonnay here. Indeed this is as convincing a chardonnay as you ever will encounter. It tastes of grilled peaches and nuts, flint, white flowers and meal, with perhaps a flash of cinnamon in the mix too. But forget the descriptors. The result is a wine of brilliant intensity, character and length, and that’s all you need to know. It’s the perfect example of just how glorious Adelaide Hills Chardonnay can be. 96 points.
