Ulithorne Singularis Grenache 2024
$175, 14.5% alcohol, DIAM cork, McLaren Vale.

This is a warm, powerful grenache. It attacks with flavour, keeps it going through the mid palate and then pushes out confidently through the finish. It tastes of saltbush and redcurrant, peppercorn and red licorice – mostly – with dried herb and orange peel characters flashing about the edges. It’s very ripe but it’s not without delicacy or nuance; indeed for all of its power it feels balanced and neat. In short, it’s quite a wine. 94 points.
