There’s nothing cookie-cutter about Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown chardonnay. This is part of its glory. This wine is quite light and yet, in its own way, it’s quite powerful. It tastes of barley and ozone, citrus and white peach, tonic water and custard powder, the latter as a gentle infusion. There’s both a calmness to this wine and a tension; I don’t understand this, but there is. It’s quite something.
