Stonehaven Limited Vineyard Release Shiraz 2022
$45, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Wrattonbully.

This is a deeply satisfying red wine. It’s plush, tight, juicy and complex at once, though mainly it’s just a sure-footed red wine that’s excellent to drink. In fact – if you don’t mind me using this word – it’s a smooth red, with velvety fruit and oak combining to generous and enjoyable effect. In flavour terms this wine tastes of plums, peppercorns, liquid toast, mint and licorice, with a flash of dark chocolate in play too. It’s harmonious and it’s good. 93 points.
