This is an incredible chardonnay. The intensity of the flavour, the feel of it in your mouth, the X-factor and the exciting sling of extra through the finish. Everything here is A-Grade and more. It tastes of grapefruit, ripe pears, pineapple and sweet spices, though there are also whispers – and no more – of nougat and oyster shells. It’s all about the flavour and mouthfeel but then the finish itself takes some beating, such is the extremity of its length. We don’t generally talk about chardonnay as being suitable for long-term ageing but this wine will still be going strong for another decade or more.
