Yering Station Reserve Pinot Noir 2017
AU$182, 13.3% alcohol, screwcap, Yarra Valley.

Museum release.

This wine is as complex as it is powerful. It’s quite a Pinot Noir. It carries undergrowth, sweet red and black cherry characters, a clear infusion of cedarwood and then complex oystery, almost seaweed-like notes through the finish. The mouthfeel is silken, the tannin a perfectly integrated and formed net across the back half of the wine. The really exciting thing about this wine is the way sweetness and savouriness present as one: harmony is one of many of this wine’s strong points.

95 points – Campbell Mattinson.
