Chatto Bird Pinot Noir 2025

Bottle of Chatto Bird Pinot Noir 2025.

Chatto Bird Pinot Noir 2025
AU$70, 14.5% alcohol, screwcap, Tasmania.

I’d call the 2025 Chatto releases a watershed moment for the label except that Chatto has been churning out the hits for years. Needless to say: the 2025 Chatto releases are on fire.

This is a single vineyard pinot noir from Pipers River.

This is firm and fine and impeccably well structured – and extended – and yet the fruit and flavour profile is delicious. This latter point is true in the added context that this wine is essentially or majorly savoury. Undergrowth, bright cherries, smoked meat, elaborate/fragrant herbs, drifts of sweet wood and floral, foresty sprays. It’s light, fragrant, aromatic, pretty, sinewy and savoury at once. It’s a champion of a wine. 95 points – Campbell Mattinson.
