Murdoch Hill Apollo Pinot Noir 2022

Mattinson review of Murdoch Hill Apollo Pinot Noir 2022.

Murdoch Hill Apollo Pinot Noir 2022
$91, 13% alcohol, screwcap, Adelaide Hills.

It’s hard to get Pinot Noir right in the Adelaide Hills but when it works it tends to soar. This Pinot Noir from Murdoch Hill is one of the best pinot noirs I’ve had the pleasure of from the region. It’s a structured, near-Italianate rendition of the variety with smoky, berried fruit, rounds of spice and twiggy herbs, and firm, pencilly tannin. This is a wine of layers, and of personality, It’s something special. 96 points.
